Quality Inspector @ Berkeley, CA (1099 Contractor)

Responsibilities:-
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of precision machined parts with tolerances typically ±0.001”
- Conduct receiving inspection and in-process inspection using metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, height gauge/surface plate)
- Perform visual inspection of PCBs and PCB assemblies for workmanship and damage
- Follow ESD-safe handling procedures during electronics inspections
- Complete inspection documentation and detailed inspection reports
- Support non-conformance reporting and follow-up actions when defects are identified
- Additional duties may include stockroom tasks such as receiving, kitting, and bin audits
- Position requires full-time onsite presence in Berkeley, CA and local candidates preferred due to project duration.
Technical Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in precision Machined Parts & PCBA Inspection
- Precision machining / aerospace / semiconductor / advanced electronics manufacturing
- PCB / PCBA manufacturing or electronics inspection
- Preferred Certifications: IPC-A-610 (preferred – ideally Class 2 or Class 3 experience)
Metrology / inspection training preferred - Hands-on inspection experience with precision machined components
- Experience measuring tight tolerances (<0.001”)
- Strong knowledge of metrology tools including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height gauges/surface plate
- Experience with PCB / PCBA visual inspection
- Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures
- Ability to complete inspection reports and documentation
- Experience handling non-conformance reporting (NCR) and follow-up actions

Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
